Couple seat or sofa: which to book

How the fire show's seat packages work: a bamboo couple seat for two, sofas for four to six, set menus, extras paid at the restaurant and first-come places.

Quick answer

Book the couple seat if there are one or two of you, and a sofa package if you are four to six. Each package has its own price on the calendar, covering the seat and its set dinner rather than each person. The menu follows the package and can't be changed; extras are paid at the restaurant. Neither package reserves a particular spot, because tables go to whoever arrives first.

Two ways to sit

The booking offers two kinds of seat. The couple seat is a giant bamboo seat for up to two people. The sofa is a hand-crafted giant bamboo sofa for four to six, made from local bamboo by Pattaya artisans. Both stand on the beachfront, steps from where the performers work and close enough to feel the heat of the fire. Your choice is really about the size of your party: there is no premium row and no upgrade that moves you closer.

How the price works

The price is per package, not per person. A couple seat is one price for up to two people; a sofa package is one price for a group. The booking calendar lists the packages available on your date and converts each total to your currency before checkout. When you compare it with a show priced per head, divide by the number of people in your party. Couples sharing a seat and groups filling a sofa get the most from the way it is priced.

What the package includes

Each package brings a beachfront seat, a set dinner, the fire show on the sand and the evening view over the water towards the Sanctuary of Truth and the lights of Laem Chabang port. Professional digital fire photography with the performers is part of the evening; ask at the restaurant what your package covers, since extra frames may be sold. Anything you order beyond the package, from a second drink to another dish, is paid at the restaurant.

The set menu

Menus booked through GetYourGuide are fixed and cannot be changed or exchanged on the night; the food follows the package you booked. Read the package description on the booking page before you pick, and if someone in your party eats differently, message ahead through the booking rather than asking at the table. The restaurant serves dinner on a covered outdoor terrace by the beach, so the meal goes ahead even when the evening turns showery.

Getting a good spot

No seat or sofa is numbered. Tables on the beachfront are given out first come, first served, so the earliest arrivals take the places nearest the sand. If being in the front line matters, plan to arrive in daylight; you also get the sunset that way. Groups booking a sofa have the most reason to come early, because a set of seats together is harder to find once the beach fills up.

Who should choose which

Most choices make themselves. Couples and solo travellers take the couple seat; families and groups of friends take a sofa so everyone sits together and shares one table for dinner and the show. For an awkward number, look at the packages on your date and compare totals. Whatever you choose, the cancellation terms are the same: a full refund until a day ahead, and the choice to hold now and pay later.

  • One or two people: the couple seat
  • Four to six people: a sofa package
  • Three people: compare a sofa with a couple seat plus a third place on the calendar
